If you’re planning to rent an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) before June 13th, please read the following information carefully — there are some important seasonal restrictions and limitations to keep in mind.

Seasonal Conditions to Know:
Highway 149 Use Is Seasonal
To complete the full Alpine Loop, OHVs must drive a 3-mile stretch of Highway 149. Hinsdale County only allows OHVs on this highway section starting Father’s Day weekend (June 13th).
Before that date, OHVs are not allowed on Hwy 149, but you can ride on all other Hinsdale County roads between 6am and 11pm daily.
What We’re Doing to Help
FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE BEFORE JUNE 13TH
If the mountain passes open early, we will offer a free OHV shuttle to the Lake San Cristobal staging area for machines rented from us. This helps you avoid the restricted highway section and still complete the Alpine Loop clockwise, returning to our shop on Gunnison Ave in Lake City.
